4th Grade Storms Back to Win by 1 in…
Picking up where they off from last season, our 4th grade boys team found themselves down 10 in the first half against Grind City (Queens, NY) in the Championship Game. Then down 25-18 in the second half with 8 minutes remaining, the boys rallied together a thrilling comeback to pull out the title in their opening tournament of the Fall AAU season.
Bobby Bourassa made clutch plays off the bench for Fierce, with a corner 3 point shot and then an ‘and-1’ basketball from the lane off an inbounds play. Marty Lipow was everywhere on the court with rebounds, steals and assists. Lucas Conneely controlled the ball and drilled a clutch 3 point shot during the comeback. Benji Scholz and Bennett Harriman contributed key baskets and steals. Jackson Wilcheck did a bit of everything in contributing to the win. Kroi Saliu played tough inside for Fierce.
To win the Metropolitan Grand Opener, Fierce 4th grade also defeated Greenwich Stars and 6th Borough.
