What a Day at Camp Looks Like

Every day blends fundamentals, competition, and fun so players leave the gym tired, smiling, and better than when they arrived.

  • 9:00–9:20 AM: Check-in, warm-up, ball-handling.
  • 9:20–10:30 AM: Skill stations (shooting, passing, footwork).
  • 10:30–11:15 AM: Small-sided games & decision-making.
  • 11:15–12:00 PM: Team concepts & competitions.
  • 12:00–12:30 PM: Lunch break.
  • 12:30–2:15 PM: Scrimmages, contests, situational play.
  • 2:15–3:00 PM: Awards, breakdown, review.

What ages and levels is the camp for?

Heat Check is for players entering Grades 3–7. Groups are organized by grade and skill level to ensure appropriate challenge and individual development.

👥 What is the coach-to-player ratio?

We maintain an 8–10:1 player-to-coach ratio to ensure strong attention, instruction, and supervision for every camper.

🏀 Is the camp competitive or instructional?

Both. Mornings focus on teaching and fundamentals; afternoons emphasize games, competitions, and situational play. Players get a balanced mix of learning and fun.

Does my child need prior basketball experience?

Yes. Camp is designed for players with at least some game experience. Groups adjust daily so each camper feels comfortable and improves at their own pace.

🛡 What safety and licensing requirements do you meet?

The camp is fully insured and meets all Connecticut Youth Camp licensing standards. All staff are background-checked and trained in proper safety and supervision protocols.

👁 Are parents allowed to watch?

To keep the gym focused and distraction-free, we do not allow parent spectating during instruction or games.
